Hi guys. I’m currently sitting at my computer trying to write something, anything, about women encouragement and empowerment. It’s been 30 minutes and I’ve rewritten a sentence about Feminism about 5 times just trying to get it right. I’m not even sure if that’s just the perfectionist in me or writers block or what; but thinking about women as a whole, regardless of race, sexual orientation, ability, or socio-economic standing, and trying to offer a piece of advice on how to handle being a women in today’s society is such a daunting task.
So naturally, I thought about the women in my family. Even with all our differences, there is one thing that I think we all have. We are fighters. Determined in everything that we do and unapologetically ourselves. I think that can be said for women around the world as well. It’s no secret that women are seen as the subordinate to men, which is why Feminism and gender equality are such important topics of conversation.
So I offer this advice to any women-identifying person: be you. Be proud and fight like hell for what you want, because if you don’t, who will?.
