Coachella 2017 Gives 90’s Vibes

This past weekend kicked off festival season with Coachella’s first session. For those of you who don’t know what Coachella is, it’s the music festivals of festivals and you have to come correct with your swag! Coachella is for the hippies. Flower headbands, metallic sunglasses, platform sneakers, you name it. But the 90’s is in and Coachella attenders definitely noticed- celebrities and citizens alike. Here’s some of the 90’s trends that I saw and loved!

Loved Lorde’s outfit at Coachella. Adidas shell-toes made their debut when Run DMC made a song dedicated to the shoe. Now they are back and people are rockin’ them no matter the occasion.

Kiernan Sipka and Noah Cyrus gave all Cher-Clueless vibes with their festival ensembles. As discussed in an earlier post, denim on denim is in! But we didn’t talk about denim embellishments. This was huge in the 90s… I know we remember the soul-patches. These patches were collectibles! They died down in the 2000’s, but now they’re back and for the hipsters!

Our favorite angel was absolutely adorable at Coachella. She definitely was giving 90s with her “Moesha/Brandy” braids and the mini backpack. Mini backpacks are adorable, though not practical, and are great for festival looks!

Some other festival looks that are in are: mesh, chokers, platform sneakers and sandals, and lace! If you’re attending any festivals this summer and need some inspiration, this weekend’s Coachella attenders are a great start. Urban Outfitters, Lou Lou’s, and Free People are also great urban-mode stores with blogs that are dedicated to special occasions such as this.

Attending any festivals? Let’s start a conversation!

Sandra
